If you need to complete a Kansas driver’s license renewal online, look no further than iKan.
The state’s only online provider of driver’s license renewal services, iKan, powered by PayIt, enables Kansas residents to renew their driver’s license from the comfort and safety of their own home. Plus, the platform also offers additional services for the Sunflower State, including certain vehicle registration renewals and county property tax payments.
To successfully complete your Kansas driver’s license renewal online, you will need to have visited an optometrist in the state of Kansas within the last 12 months for an eye exam. In addition, you need to be between the ages of 21 and 64, and have a valid, non-CDL license. For all the renewal criteria, head to iKan. If you meet the requirements, follow the directions below to renew your license in Kansas.
Create An iKan Account
To begin, visit iKan and click Continue to PayIt Login. There are a few options to proceed. If you already have an account feel free to login. Otherwise you can create a new account or login as a guest to continue.
How to renew a Kansas driver’s license through iKan
Once you get to the dashboard, click Renew Credential, under “Driver's License Services”
- Make note of the additional information related to an online renewal and click Yes, continue to renewal
- Next, review the renewal criteria to confirm your eligibility and select Yes, I meet the above criteria
Enter your full name and click Submit.
Enter your credential information and click Submit.
Note: Be sure to include the dashes in your Credential Number.
If you do not have a Real ID, you will not be able to order one on iKan. Select I still want to renew to proceed.
Note: If you already have a Real ID, the website will skip this step, and the Real ID endorsement will persist to your new credential.
- Answer all of the compliance questions.
When prompted to confirm if the address on your driver's license is still accurate, click Yes, it is or select No, I moved to update your address.
Note: If your address is the same, proceed to the next step.
Enter your new residential address and click Submit.
Review your new address information and if correct, click Yes.
Confirm whether or not your desired mailing address matches your residential address.
- If the mailing address is different, select No, then enter and confirm your mailing address.
- The mailing address can be anywhere in the U.S., or to an Army Post Office, Fleet Post Office or Diplomatic Post Office.
Upload the document verifying your change of address then click submit.
- Click View List of Qualifying Documents to see what documents are accepted.
- If using the iKan mobile app, you will need to either take or upload a picture. Be sure to upload a clear, non-blurry picture.
Verify that you meet the vision requirements, then select your eye doctor from the list and click Submit.
Read the Full Agreement and click I agree, and then verify whether or not you need corrective lenses.
Enter your phone number and click Submit.
Answer the Organ Donor questions, then review the renewal summary and click Looks good.
Select a payment method and click Submit.
Note: If you have a payment method already stored on your profile, it will appear here. Click on the payment method to select a different one, or to add a new one.
Review the payment summary and then click on the Pay $--.-- button to submit your application.
After submitting your payment, you will receive an email confirmation, and if signed in, a receipt will be added to your iKan profile (see Where can I find my receipt?).
